The APA and WPA affiliates feature some of the strongest powerlifters on the planet including Gary Heisey who performed a historical all time deadlift record of 925 pounds. Heiseys record stayed in the books longer than any other "all time" deadlift in the history of our sport. The International arm of the APA is the WPA and some of our events have taken place in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, England, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Jamaica, Canada and other countries. Our newest affiliates are Maldova, Poland, Iran, Italy, and Kazakhstan,
